Preparation for Lent
Join us on Wednesday 18th February for our Ash Wednesday Service with Holy Communion at Holy Trinity, 7pm.
This marks the start of our Lenten period, a time where we traditionally fast, pray and focus on our faith, growing closer to God.
Perhaps this year, you vow to give up something you love (I‘ve always found giving up chocolate during lent to be harder than it should!). Or perhaps you would like to join one of our lent groups to explore new ways to prepare for Easter.
At Saint Stephen’s:
Christian Meditation Lent Group
Are you curious about meditation? Unsure if it fits in with Christian life? Would you like to explore contemplative ways to grow in faith?
This Lent, take time to slow down and deepen your relationship with God, by joining us for our FREE, fully guided six week course of Christian meditation.
Each week we focus on two different techniques, along with discussion to answer any questions you may have. These are accessible, prayerful practices rooted in Scripture and centuries of Christian tradition, to help you find stillness, focus, and space to listen to God. Come and discover a range of practices that can support your spiritual life through Lent and beyond!
You do not need to attend the full six weeks, however we do ask that you pre-register for each weekly session if possible so we can plan for numbers.
These sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as those wanting to refresh their contemplative practice.
Meeting Tuesdays 1:15pm-2pm, Thomas Clarkson Room.
First meeting: Tuesday 24th February.
